DibsUp — Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 August 2026

DibsUp is a shared “who brings what” list for crews — households, coworkers, teammates — published by Zaparo. This policy describes what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and how to remove it. It covers the Android app com.zapar.dibs, the web crew card at dibs.kbsoap.com/dibs/r/*, and the service behind both at dibs.kbsoap.com.

What the app collects

An account, from the moment you open the app

DibsUp creates an anonymous guest account on first launch, with no sign-up screen. That account is a random identifier generated on your device — it is not your advertising ID, not your phone number, and not linked to anything outside Zaparo apps. It exists so that a crew you create or join is still yours the next time you open the app.

If you choose to sign in, we additionally store the email address you sign in with, or the email address and display name Google provides if you sign in with Google. Signing in is optional and the app is fully usable without it. Its purpose is that your crews survive losing or replacing your phone.

Joining a crew from the web card — without installing the app — creates the same kind of guest account, in your browser instead of on a device. Nothing about it requires a name, an email address, or a phone number.

Your crews and lists

Everything you type into DibsUp — item names, who called dibs on what, prices you enter — is stored on our server so that everyone in the crew sees the same list. That is the function of the app. This content is visible to everyone in the crew and to us as the operator of the server; it is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to profile you.

The “settle up” view shown in a crew is calculated from prices crew members enter — it only ever displays who owes whom. No payment, bank detail, or card number is collected, stored, or moves through DibsUp at any point.

Advertising

DibsUp shows no advertising of any kind today, from Google or from anyone else. No advertising identifier is read, no ad is requested, and nothing about your use of the app is sent anywhere for advertising purposes. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated first.

What the app does not collect

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

How it is protected

Everything the app and the web card send or receive travels over HTTPS.

How long it is kept

Crew content and membership are kept until deleted. Deleting an item removes it from every member’s view. Deleting your account removes the account and the identifiers attached to it.

Deleting your account and your data

In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. This deletes your Zaparo account and everything keyed to it, across every Zaparo app, and cannot be undone.

Content you contributed to a crew that other people are still using stays with that crew — it belongs to the list they are still using, not only to you. If you want that removed too, delete the items first, or ask us at the address below.

You can also write to privacy@kbsoap.com to request access to, or deletion of, your data.

Children

DibsUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the updated date at the top will change and the new version will be published at this address.
